“It was my Goddaughters confirmation yesterday and I had a new dress for the occasion (accidentally, i had made this for a night away that didn’t happen)

I revisited the @sizemesewing #viennedress as the one I made before is a dress I reach for time and again. I made the same size as before and again 2.5mtrs of @fabricgodmother fabric. I had forgotten how great the instructions are and how nicely this all comes together. I’m working on a skirt pattern and as you can see in the picture I was lazy with my darts and each one opened up by 1cm so with 6 darts I gained 6cm!!!

Now I’m experienced enough to find the mistake BUT this could easily send you in a fitting loop and result in you giving up.
So here’s a reminder to be accurate at all stages as small amounts add up to big differences ❤️❤️

I’m definitely guilty of ‘forgetting’ to wash my fabric before I cut out, usually because I’m too excited to wait! To be honest I have been lucky BUT I was reminded why it’s important this week when a friend did and the fabric shrank by 10%!! She had a real struggle making it work 😢 imagine if this happened after she’s made the garment 😳😱
