Colette Bland –
Lovely blouse to make and I am a novice . Was really pleased to see how easy it was to do the sleeves. Really comfortable and stylish too. Thanks Donna for such straightforward instructions.

You are welcome Colette, its one of my pet peeves when instructions aren’t full and easy to follow. Thanks for the review xx
Mia –
Beautiful pattern! Straightforward to make – i confess I didnt even read the instructions in great detail. I followed Donna’s video and whipped it up in an afternoon. The darts on sleeve cap are rather unique, and very friendless for narrow shoulders. Love the shirred cuffs! The pattern is true to size for me. I didnt have to make any adjustments.

So happy you found it straight forward to make Mia that’s music to my ears! The shoulder dart gives it a much more fitted sleeve so it will feel much nicer if you have narrow shoulders. Thanks so much much for the review. Dxx
Emily Rought-Brooks –
Really enjoyed learning how to do shirring! Set myself a bit of a challenge with stripy fabric so carried on shirring and added a panel to the front v. Instructions very good as with other patterns!

Thanks Emily, Shirring is so satisfying once you’ve cracked it isn’t it? Thanks you for being so kind about my instructions. I work hard to make them user friendly so it’s good to hear it worked.

Love this blouse!!! It’s so straightforward to put together and the great tutorial is just like having Donna in the room helping you along! It’s such a flattering fit and the darts on the shoulders make the sleeves fit perfectly. I’ve been wearing mine non stop and have already started a second. I can see this becoming a real tried and true pattern with lots of hacking potential now that I have found it to be such a good fit.

I’ve loved seeing your hacks Sarah, they’re amazing. So happy you love the pattern…makes my day, thank you xx
Sue Buzzle –
Fabulous wardrobe staple. Easy to follow instructions with a brilliant step by step tutorial on YouTube. As a fairly new sewist, I was able to build on skills already learnt and learn new things, giving me the confidence to move forward. Will definitely try another pattern. Thank you.

So where do I start……
Let’s start with the finished product, absolutely beautiful! I don’t even wear blouses but I am already planning on another.
This pattern was my first time for a lot of things:
– sewing lightweight woven fabric
– making a woven top
– raglan sleeves
– bias neckline
– shirring
And I have to say the video is an invaluable resource. I also managed to cock up the fit and Donna took the time and effort to walk me through it. 100% 5 stars for the pattern, instructions, video tutorial and Donna’s patience!

Lovely pattern, great instructions and a fab you tube sew along – it was great to follow and learn some new tips especially adding bias binding this way and I’ve never been able to master shirring elastic up until now – thanks Donna

That’s such wonderful news that you learned a few new skills xx

Lovely pattern, get fit, didn’t need to do a FBA which is always good. I only did 7 rows of shirring on sleeves.
admin (store manager) –
Thank you for such a great review Elaine. I’m so happy you enjoyed making my pattern.

Really enjoyed making this pattern. I altered it slightly by adding a little front zip in but otherwise needed no modifications. If you are nervous about trying shirring, you needn’t be, as Donna’s video tutorial holds your hand every step of the way! I will definitely make another one of these at some point…

So glad you enjoyed making it Jo. It looks fabulous! Dxx

Easy to sew and came together very quickly. Shortened sleeves because I’m 5’1″ but added length so I could wear it over leggings , I made no other adjustments. Excellent YT sewalong to help should you need it with the shirring at the cuffs. Will definately make again.

Janet Ford –
A lovely pattern and it gave a welcome opportunity to have a go at making something with a more challenging fabric! I started with the Florence blouse as a test of the pattern sizing and not generally being someone who would choose a raglan sleeve. The thought of attempting shirring was also at first daunting for me!
The combination of Donna’s written instructions and especially the comprehensive video tutorial made the process very enjoyable and the links to sections of the video meant it was easy to pick up in bite size chunks. My machine didn’t accept the shirring bobbin at the first few attempts but Donna’s video advice to search for a machine-related guide for this soon meant I had successfully worked out what I needed to do and, for a first attempt at shirring, I am very pleased!
The blouse is beautiful and so comfy to wear – like a cloud! The darted and generous sleeves make the raglan a flattering fit and the V neck is a beautiful fit. The guidance for binding a delicate fabric neckline ensure another skill learned and I am now ready to choose and sew my next Size:Me pattern! I have a couple of questions for Donna but as I am attending her French Sewing Retreat in a few weeks, I look forward to asking her there and really ensuring I consolidate my learning!
