I loved making this coat, I started with the written instruction which are great but I loved loved the YouTube tutorial. I didn’t pick up the instructions after that. No need to wonder ‘how to’ the tutorial explains it all. I bought the standard pattern for the coat and found the make was bob on to the measurements. I had to make some adjustments to the sleeve as I am a little short but left the length as is as I wanted long. All in all it took me 15 hours to make.

So happy you like the YouTube tutorials, its a great way for me explain the tricky bit. 15 hours wow!! xx

I loved making this coat! I would never have thought I had the ability, but having experienced how clear Donna’s tutorials are on the Vienne dress, I thought I’d give it a try. The construction process is broken down into easily achievable steps and anything tricky is shown and explained really clearly. Donna’s positivity shines through and it feels like sewing with a friend in the room 😁

Nice pattern BUT no instructions, pictures etc.

Hi Frances, I’ve just emailed you.
I’m not sure why you haven’t got any instructions? There’s actually a booklet of over 20 pages. Did you download the pattern? Where did you purchase it.
I’m sure we can sort it.
Thanks
Donna

Hi Frances,
I had a chance to check this morning and I can see you ordered a paper copy of the Coat pattern, I can only apologise that in error you didn’t have any instructions. I’ve attached them in an email as a pdf and I will post a set out to you today.
I hope you accept my apology.
Regards
Donna

I’ve made this coat twice now. It’s a beauty! Straight forward to make if you follow the instructions step by step. Watch the video for the slightly tricky bits! When made it’s casual but chic I would say. The wow factor is all in the lining ……

I’ve seen both Jo and they certainly have the wow factor!! Thanks so much fir the review xx

I wanted to make a coat for a long time but kept putting it off as I thought it was too hard. So I got the Vienne coat pattern as I know Donna’s instructions and YouTube videos are great, and I’m so glad I did. It was actually really straightforward to make. There’s a lot of steps of course but they’re manageable.
If you don’t think you can make a coat, this is the pattern for you!
All the details of my coat are on my blog https://sewminigems.wordpress.com/2022/02/04/vienne-coat-part-2-the-finished-article/

Thanks Gemma, I’ve seen your coat and read your blog, both are fantastic xx

Looking at this pattern. There is no detailed info re the garment. Does it have a front closure, how exactly is the collar made and fitted, what is the style of the back?
Also no idea re how much fabric it takes.
Look at the pictures, and it appears to be lined.
I see there are videos to show how to make it, but watching that takes time, and so I am likely to browse by

Hi Pat,
Within the description there is a size chart that includes the amounts of fabric, it also says that the skills involved include lining. I accept that that it doesn’t specifically mention the closures and I will add this but it mentions 2 large press studs. I wouldn’t expect to see how a garment is constructed within this information but if you did take the time it is detailed in the video. I feel your review is in relation on my product page not the product. If you take time to look at my product reviews I hope you will see that they are overwhelming positive. Donna x
