All this while connecting with like-minded sewists who understand the journey and can offer support and inspiration.

And the best part? You’ll get it all done in just one week, with dedicated time to focus solely on fit, all while immersed in the beauty of rural France, along the tranquil River Vienne. It’s the perfect setting to focus on your sewing skills, surrounded by stunning scenery and peaceful countryside.

What is include

Start with the Size Me Sewing Block pattern and then immerse yourself in 4 days of expert tuition with Katie, a trained tailor, and Donna, the designer, in our beautifully converted studio. If your flight schedule allows, you’ll also have the option of an extra half-day of exclusive studio access to perfect your projects.

Over the course of the bootcamp, we’ll cover everything you need to know about achieving the perfect fit. Each participant will leave with a fully fitted set of pattern blocks, including bodice, sleeve, trousers, and skirt. You’ll also gain the essential knowledge of how to use these blocks to adjust future patterns and create custom designs. By the end of the week, you’ll have the confidence and tools to tailor any pattern to fit your body!

We’ve got you covered with complimentary airport transfers from Limoges for flights arriving on Monday and departing on Saturday, including from Leeds and Manchester. The adventure kicks off on Tuesday with 4 full days in the studio with our expert tuition. Each day, you’ll enjoy convenient pickup and drop-off service from Confolens town square, and indulge in delicious, locally sourced lunches to keep you fuelled and inspired!

On Tuesday and Friday evenings, you’ll gather for a dinner by the river—a perfect opportunity to unwind, relax, and get to know your fellow sewists outside of the studio, all while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Confolens.

Travelling alone? Not a problem at all! We make sure everyone has the chance to connect before the retreat, so you won’t be alone for long. Arrive as strangers, leave as friends—it’s one of the many things that makes our retreat so special! You’ll quickly feel at home and part of the group.

If you’d like to extend your holiday or bring along a non-sewing partner or friend, that’s absolutely possible! Many guests have done just that. Just let us know your plans, and we’ll be happy to discuss them. The area is renowned for its stunning cycling routes and excellent fishing spots, so there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained while you’re busy sewing. It’s the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure!

What’s Not Included

Travel
Travel is not included in the retreat cost. Our itinerary is designed around Ryanair flights from Manchesterand Stansted to Limoges, which operate on Mondays and return on Saturdays. However, there are plenty of other travel options to get to Confolens. The Eurostar offers a super-fast 5-hour route from London to Angoulême.

Alternatively, you can fly from Leeds/Bradford, Bristol or Southampton to Limoges or Poitiers, both of which are about an hour’s drive from Confolens, if you are considering any of these alternatives option please discuss with us as there may be an additional cost.

For those who prefer driving, France offers easy and scenic routes, with wide roads, quiet traffic, and well-priced motels. If driving from Calais, it takes approximately 8.5 hours to reach Confolens.

Accommodation
Confolens offers a variety of B&Bs that cater to different needs and budgets. We recommend staying in town for easy access to local amenities and to meet up with fellow retreat participants in the evenings.

What to Bring
All necessary sewing equipment will be provided, you may want to bring along a pattern that you have struggled with or one that you want to make next with your newly acquired knowledge!
